Established in 1968, Cotigao Wildlife Sanctuary is the second-largest sanctuary in Goa and a haven for nature lovers and wildlife enthusiasts. Located in the Canacona Taluka, it spans over 85 square kilometers and is known for its dense forest canopy, which includes some of the tallest trees in Goa.
The sanctuary is not just about spotting wild animals—it’s an immersive nature experience. While shy creatures like panthers, hyenas, and sloth bears are rarely seen, you’ll likely encounter monkeys, flying squirrels, deer, and exotic birds. A key attraction is the 40-meter-high treetop watchtower, offering panoramic views of the forest canopy and waterholes below where animals gather.
